Better than factory side steps
- Tucked up they are discrete as if not there and offer much better clearance
- When lowered they are lower and further out so a much more useful step.
Clearview’s retractable side steps are the ultimate blend of utility and sophisticated engineering, designed specifically for the 4×4 owner who craves accessibility paired with performance.
I have a set of these on my own car. I damaged a factory side step and the cost of one replacement factory step was outrageous. I figured why not just get a set of these instead. I dare say you could get these on insurance if you have a damaged step.
Apart from the tidier tucked up look and improved clearance what I like the most is the much better step. It is closer to the ground and sticks out further making it a lot more useful. My wife says it is the best thing I have done to the car. If you have someone who needs a hand with getting in and out of the car then just do it.
Let’s face it there are 2 reasons people have steps – some folks with tough Bush Weapon vehicles want for fabricated rock sliders so they can drag themselves over rocks and logs and wish for the bodywork to be protected. That concept needs ultimate clearance so they are quite useless as a step. Rock Sliders are also heavy and weight matters for the GVM conscious driver. The Clearviews on the other hand have not been made for the Rock Slider market. Although offering even better clearance than Rock Sliders the Clearview Powerboards are for those wanting a better step for improved access in and out of the vehicle. More suited to the Caravan towing machine than the Bush Weapon.
This listing is for 2 x side steps for both sides. The kit is complete and you only need spanners to fit.
These retractable side steps provide an easy and safe way to step in and out of your vehicle. Clearview Power Boards are fitted under the vehicle, running along the length of the vehicle between the wheel arches on both the driver and passenger sides.
Clearview Power Boards are triggered by the vehicle’s door sensor. When the door opens, the Power Board is activated and automatically lowers up to 300mm (depending on model) to a convenient stepping height. When the door closes, the Power Board will automatically retract back to the body of the vehicle.
The inbuilt safety feature activates if any resistance is felt on the step resulting in the step holding its position. Opening and closing the door again will deactivate the Power Board’s safety stop.
With 300kg load capacity, safety cut off feature and IP68 rating on the motors, accessing your vehicle is as easy as one step up.
We can send these to you by courier (too long for Aus Post) for DIY or we can fit them for you. Takes us about 3 hours all up. The step is the easy bit – takes a bit longer to run the wiring harness on each side.
